Dillon Family

Reuben Dillon was one of the early settlers in the valley. He, and members of the Dillon family, are buried in the Shenandoah Valley cemetery. This picture shows that the old house is badly in need of repair. Of the two views, one shows the west side and the end of the house, while the second view is of the east end and shows the roof in a dilapidated condition. Nevertheless, there was an elderly lady in residence who greeted me cordially when I took the picture.

View number two showing the end of the house in its poor condition. Although this end of the house was breaking down, the elderly lady came to the back door from the kitchen and asked me if I knew of a family who needed a caretaker for an older person.
