"Danza Italiana"

Performs At The Golden State Museum

The new Italian Teen Folk-Dance Group of Sacramento "DANZA ITALIANA" performed the traditional dances of our Italian heritage at the "CHRISTMAS IN CALIFORNIA FESTIVAL" at the Golden State Museum on Saturday, November 27. "DANZA ITALIANA" had its debut at FESTA ITALIANA in August. The new teen folk dance group fills the need for the teen members of our Italian community to be able to learn and perform Italian dances. The Teen dance group provides teenagers between the ages of 11 and 19 with the opportunity to perform in public and connect to their Italian heritage at the same time.

The group is also a bridge between our "Bambini" folk-dance group for children ages 5 to 12 and our "Balliamo" performing folk-dance troupe for adults. We need more teens to join our new group. This is a great opportunity for parents and teens to connect to their Italian culture and traditions together. Please call Phyllis Cupparo at 852-6429 for information about "DANZA ITALIANA-THE TEEN DANCE GROUP"

For information about enrolling your child in the "BAMBINI DANCERS-THE CHILDREN'S DANCE GROUP" or booking a performance by the Children's group, call Kathy Marchetti at 456-2965. The Children's Dance group will be performing at the Befana Festival on January 8th along with the Teen Dancers.
