The Brinn Home, Sutter Creek, California

The Brinn House dating back to 1850, which John Davis began the original construction of the home. He was employed at the nearby Hand, Davis and Jones Herbertville Mine as a night watchman.

Morris Brinn purchased the home from Mr. Davis in 1865 where he engaged in the mercantile business for many years. The Fire of 1882 did some major damage to the home which was later repaired.

Pictured here is the Brinn Store that Morris Brinn operated for many years. Morris Brinn also served as the town's postmaster for a short periond. More on this building in our mainstreet tour.
