Woods Lake

South of Hwy.88 near Carson Pass. 19 camping units, water, toilets. Motorboats not allowed on lake. Trails to Round Top, Winnamucca Lake, Mokelumne Wilderness

The first look at Woods Lake makes your head swim. This tiny blue gem is surrounded by mountains reaching to the sky. Waterfalls flash silver as they fall down from the melting snowfields. Boulders and islands along the water’s edge glow warm and gray in the high-altitude sun. The needles are soft under the pines.
