    Ione Brewery

    The Ione Brewery, also known as the Ice House Brewery, was built here in 1860. Many gallons of beer, brewed from barley and hops grown in the Ione Valley, were produced in this building.

    Sinclair Home

    The Sinclair House

    Mrs. Dorthy Sinclair purchased this property in 1863. Withington built this home in 1857. Although records show that Withington moved away to Muletown, that he returned and purchased the property again in 1863.

    The Grant House

    This home was standing in 1857. Many managers of the Arroyo Seco Rancho has lived here, including the Withington's in 1875.

    Preston School of Industry

    Preston School

    In 1890, 230 acres of land was purchased for the building of Preston Castle. The property was purchased from the Ione Coal & Iron Company for about $30 per acre with 100 acres donated.
